Blocking SBI Credit Card
The State Bank of India provides various credit cards, each meticulously crafted to suit the cardholders’ financial needs. SBI credit cards deliver many advantages, from low finance costs to an impressive rewards program.
You must block it as quickly as possible if it so happens that you must have the SBI Credit Card lost or a transaction that was made without your knowledge comes to your notice. You can block your SBI credit card in both cases to ensure that fraudulent transactions do not occur.

Different ways of blocking SBI Credit Cards
Once you send a request via either of the following options, you should receive a confirmation SMS on your registered mobile number and mail. If you do not receive confirmation, you can call the SBI Card Helpline at 39 02 02 02 (prefix local STD Code) or 1860 180 1290. The same card cannot be reactivated once your SBI credit card is blocked.
A new card with a different number will be sent to your registered mailing address when the SBI Credit Card is reissued. You will obtain the new SBI Credit Card within seven working days after requesting to reissue/replace the card. For reissue/replacement, a replacement fee of Rs 100 + tax will be paid.
- Credit card Netbanking
To access the credit card net banking, head to sbicard.com and log into your account using the required credentials. Once logged in, go to ‘Report Lost/Stolen Card’ under the Requests tab on the webpage. Select the card number of the SBI credit card that has been misplaced. If you want a reissued card, click “reissue card” and submit. Your request will be processed, and the card will be blocked.
- Use the mobile app
Login using the required credentials on the SBI mobile app. Click “Service Request” under the menu option. Tap on the card ‘Report Lost/Stolen.’ Now, choose the number of a card that is lost or stolen. Also, select “Reissue Card” to reissue the SBI credit card and click “Submit.”
- Call the helpline number.
You must dial 18601801290 or 39020202 (local STD code prefix) on the SBI Card Helpline and pick your preferred language. The choice to report lost/stolen cards is Press 2.
- SMS
To use the SMS service, users are expected to send a ‘BLOCK XXXX’ SMS (the last four digits of the credit card) to the number 5676791 from the registered mobile number.
