Amanda Drury
Amanda Drury, an Australian journalist and anchor for CNBC, hosts finance and business programming. She was born on May 5, 1973. She was co-host of Street Signs in the USA until February 6, 2015, and has been featured on various CNBC shows as an expert on finance and business.
Education and early life
Drury was born and raised in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. She graduated from Methodist Ladies’ College in Melbourne in 1990. She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts, Japanese, and French from the University of Melbourne. She also attended the Australian Film, Television, and Radio School.
Career
Drury began her career in Japan as an international relations specialist. Her broadcasting career began in radio before she switched to television and worked for Bloomberg Tokyo between 1999 and 2000. CNBC hired her in January 2001[2], and she spent eight years at the Asia-Pacific headquarters in Singapore. In 2009, she was stationed at CNBC Sydney. She was then transferred to CNBC’s global headquarters in New Jersey in May 2010. Drury was the co-anchor for “The Call” when she joined CNBC USA. Drury has also appeared on various segments and shows on CNBC. In March 2011, she was named co-presenter on The Call (US Version). Drury was a finalist for the Best News Presenter category in the 2008 and 2007 Asian Television Awards.
Drury resigned from CNBC US on January 15, 2016, after her last appearance as Power Lunch co-presenter. She is now moving back to Sydney, Australia. She returned to CNBC Asia in July 2016
