Alexandra Paul
Alexandra Elizabeth Paul was born on July 29, 1963. She is an American actress and activist. Paul started her modeling career in New York before landing her first major role as Christine (1983), a horror film by John Carpenter. Then came prominent roles in American Flyers (1985), 8 Million Ways to Die (86), and Dragnet (1987).
Her most well-known role is Lt. Stephanie Holden on the TV series Baywatch (1992-1997). She has also appeared in over 100 films and TV programs.
Early life
Paul was the son of Sarah, an English social worker, and Mark Paul (an American investment banker). Paul was raised in Cornwall, Connecticut, with identical twin sister Caroline and her younger brother Jonathan. Paul claims that her mother was a liberal Democrat, and her father was a conservative Republican. Caroline, her twin sister, was a San Francisco firefighter (where Alexandra is often misunderstood as Caroline) and best-selling author.
Paul was a student at the Groton School and Cornwall Consolidated School. Paul had two major abdominal surgeries to remove choledochal Cys at the ages of 17 and 18. The scar that ran from her sternum to where she could see her naval left. Paul was accepted to Stanford University but she decided not to go so that she could pursue acting.
Career
Paul was a prominent television star from the 1980s to 1997. Perhaps her most well-known role was as a Baywatch star from 1992 to 1997. Paul started her career as a model in New York City. She later moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. First, she starred in Paper Dolls (1982), then American Nightmare (1983), a Canadian independent horror film. Paul was offered a lead role in John Carpenter’s horror movie Christine (1983) opposite Keith Gordon. He also played a supporting part in the comedy Just the Way You Are (84).
Later, she appeared with Kevin Costner in American Flyers (1985) and 8 Million Ways to Die (1986), as well as the comedy Dragnet (1987), which co-starred Dan Aykroyd and Tom Hanks. She was also a star in Death Train (1993), Nightwatch (1995), and Nightwatch (1995), opposite Christopher Lee and Pierce Brosnan [citation needed], as well as the horror films The Paperboy (1994) and Spectre (1996).
Alexandra starred in three movies in 2019, including Escaping My Stalker. She also worked on four projects in 2020 and starred in two independent films in 2022: Tethered and Baby Steps.
Personal life
Since 2000, Paul has been married to Ian Murray. At the age of 14, she read Diet for a Small Planet, Frances Moore Lappe’s book on vegetarianism, and then became a vegetarian and vegan in 2010.
Paul has chosen to be childless.
Paul was an athlete who ran the 1997 Hawaii Ironman. She also ran the 2000 Boston Marathon. She also completed the 11-mile Fiji Swim.
Paul was certified as a health coach in 2015 and now runs her own business.
